On-going Events/Activities:

Big Tree Measurements:  Help discover and measure the largest and most impressive trees in Carroll County.  Visit our Big Tree page to learn about this national program and view a video about its creator, Fred Beseley, the First State Forester in Maryland.   Outings are scheduled on an as-needed basis. If you are interested in helping to measure the Big Trees in Carroll County, or would like to nominate a big tree, contact Geary Schwemmer at:  

Weed Warrior training days and work days: Help to improve wildlife habitat and native plant biodiversity by becoming a Weed Warrior.  Weed Warrior groups remove exotic invasive plants from our local parks and public spaces.   If you would like to receive email notification of scheduled Weed Warrior training days and work days, contact Jamie Weaver at   Jamie.weaver@maryland.gov .     Click this link for weed warrior pictures and more information.
